According to the Henley Passport Index 2025, Singapore holds the strongest passport with visa-free access to 195 countries.

Passports are essential for enabling the freedom to travel, which has become a significant asset for people in today’s more interconnected globe. Stronger passport countries usually have greater diplomatic ties, making it easier for their citizens to go abroad, while weaker passport nations often encounter major barriers that restrict their possibilities for international mobility and involvement.
As per Henley Passport Index 2025, Singapore still has the title of having the strongest passport in the world, granting its holders visa-free entry to an astounding 195 countries. With access to 193 places, Japan is in second place, having effectively restored visa-free travel for the first time since the COVID-19 pandemic.
Except for Australia, the United States, and Canada, the other ten countries in the top ten are mostly controlled by European countries. Meanwhile, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) passport is noteworthy since it has acquired access to 72 more places since 2015, placing it in 10th place worldwide and providing visa-free travel to 185 destinations by 2025.

India, on the other hand, dropped five spots from the previous year to 85th place in the 2025 passport rating. It is important to note that India’s prior ranking in the Henley Passport Index was 80th in 2024. Its historical trajectory indicates that it peaked at 90th in 2021 and had its best performance in 2006 when it was rated 71st.
