CSIR UGC NET December 2024: NTA has released new admit cards for the Feb 28 exam which was cancelled due to technical glitch.
CSIR-UGC NET 2024: The Joint CSIR-UGC NET December 2024 examination, originally scheduled for 28th February 2025 (Shift-1) at Assam Down Town University, Guwahati, Assam, was cancelled due to a technical glitch. This affected candidates appearing for the subjects of Earth Sciences and Mathematical Sciences.
In an official update, the National Testing Agency (NTA) has announced the rescheduling of the affected exams. The new exam date for candidates in these subjects at Assam Down Town University is as follows:
Earth Sciences: March 2, 2025 (Shift-1, 09:00 AM to 12:00 PM)
Mathematical Sciences: March 2, 2025 (Shift-1, 09:00 AM to 12:00 PM)
The NTA has also issued fresh admit cards for the candidates affected on the official website – csirnet.nta.ac.in. Candidates can download the CSIR-UGC NET 2024 admit cards following the simple steps given below.
It is important to note that candidates’ exam centres have also been changed. Therefore, candidates are advised to carefully check their new admit cards and reach the updated exam centre on the specified date and time.

Step 1: Visit the official website – csirnet.nta.ac.in.
Step 2: On the home page, click on the Joint CSIR UGC NET December 2024 Admit Card link
Step 3: On the newly opened page, enter your application number, date of birth, and security pin
Step 4: Click on the ‘submit’ button and your CSIR NET December 2024 Admit Card will appear on the screen
Step 5: Download the admit card and take a printout for exam day

The CSIR UGC NET determines eligibility for Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) grants and lectureships. It will be held online as a computer-based test (CBT) in English or Hindi. The three-hour exam is divided into three sections: Part A, Part B, and Part C, and consists of 200 marks. Part A focuses on General Aptitude, while Parts B and C delve into the candidate’s chosen subject. All sections consist of objective-type, multiple-choice questions. As per the markigng scheme, 25 per cent of the allotted marks is deducted for each incorrect answer.
