Taking to social media, Kartik dropped a teaser of sorts from the film which showcased the bromance between Sonu and Titu as one of the most popular tracks ‘Tere Yaar’ played in the background. He penned a sweet note on the film’s seventh anniversary, saying, “7 years ago, Sonu taught the world that sachchi dosti > love (at least sometimes)?? This endless love towards the film made it legendary! Forever grateful to Luv Sir, my amazing co-stars Nushrat and Sunny , and all of you who still vibe to ‘Tera Yaar Hoon Main’ like it just dropped yesterday and made it the eternal friendship anthem!”
Furthermore, reflecting on this milestone, Kartik had earlier opened up about the film and had said, “Pyaar Ka Punchnama was definitely a significant film for me, but it was Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety that truly changed everything. Before Sonu, very few people even knew my name.”
From delivering iconic monologues to the film’s emotional bond describing friendship and its humor, everything resonated with the audience as it went on to become a massive box office success, making Sonu one of the most memorable characters in his career. Written and directed by Luv Ranjan, the film also featured Alok Nath, Ishita raj Sharma, Virendra Saxena, among others.
