Schools in West Bengal and Telangana will remain closed for the next few days due to festivals and state-declared holidays. The governments of both states have officially announced closures, with West Bengal schools shutting down for two days and Telangana schools observing a three-day holiday till February 16, 2025.
West Bengal Schools Closed on February 13-14
The West Bengal government has declared a two-day holiday for state-run offices, schools, and institutions on February 13 and 14, 2025. This is in observance of Shab-e-Barat on February 13 and Panchanan Barma Jayanti on February 14. Initially, the government had announced only February 14 as a holiday for Shab-e-Barat, but after confirming that the festival falls on February 13, it extended the break to include both days.
Telangana Schools Shut Till February 16
In Telangana, schools will be closed from February 14 to 16. The state government declared an optional holiday on February 14 for Shab-e-Barat, a significant Islamic event known as the “Night of Forgiveness.” Though not a mandatory holiday, many schools and institutions in Hyderabad and other districts are expected to remain closed to allow communities to observe the occasion.
Additionally, February 15 has been designated as a government holiday for the birth anniversary of Sant Sewalal Maharaj. Following this, February 16 will be a weekend holiday for many schools, effectively granting students a three-day break from academic activities.
