In 2011, an amendment expanded this role to include train movement between India and Nepal. Singhabad now stands in stark contrast to its past. The once-busy station is now deserted, with ticket counters shut and platforms empty. A small group of railway staff maintains the station, but passenger trains no longer stop here. Often called India’s last station, Singhabad remains on the fringes of the railway network, its future uncertain. However, given its advantageous location, it could play a pivotal role in future rail projects, particularly in international trade.
