Actor Ram Kapoor reveals how he lost 55 kilos, shares diet habit he adopted

Actor Ram Kapoor recently opened up on his weight loss journey. The Bade Achhe Lagte Hain actor lost a massive 55 kilos, and gained appreciation from the length and breadth of the country.
Ram Kapoor’s impressive weight loss has several layers to it, unlike the drastic and trendy weight loss hacks people follow these days.
Recently on Cyrus Says, the actor said that the role of diet in weight management is often misunderstood. He said he had lost weight twice, each time around 30 kilos, but they came back after a while.
Ram Kapoor said any diet is temporary. “Instead of dieting you need to change your mindset. Healthy people think differently, you need to become like that for life,” the actor said.
The actor said he eats only two meals a day: one at 10.30 am and the second one at 6.30pm. He advises against eating anything after sunset. He doesn’t snack at all in between, except water and coffee/tea.
The actor also revealed how being fat, took a toll on his health. He had to struggle with type 2 diabetes. He also shared that his weight was never a problem in his illustrious career as an actor and infact fans loved him for the way he was, especially in Bade Achhe Lagte Hain in which he starred opposite Sakshi Tanwar. However, he wanted to be healthy and not the flagbearer of unhealthiness.

The goal is lifelong health, not a quick fix

Ram Kapoor’s weight loss journey and his special focus on mindset shift teaches several things. A sustainable weight loss journey requires shifting your perspective from short-term fixes to long-term lifestyle changes.
Instead of aiming for rapid weight loss, focus on gradual, sustainable progress. Set specific, achievable goals, like losing one to two pounds per week or improving your energy levels. Celebrate small wins to stay motivated.
Weight loss is about feeling better, not just looking different. Pay attention to how your body responds to healthier choices—more energy, better sleep, and improved mood. Shifting your focus to overall well-being makes the process more fulfilling.
Food is fuel, not a reward or punishment. Instead of restrictive dieting, adopt a balanced approach by enjoying nutritious meals that satisfy you. Practice mindful eating—savor each bite, listen to hunger cues, and avoid emotional eating triggers.
Weight loss is a journey with ups and downs. View setbacks as learning experiences rather than failures. If you overeat or miss a workout, don’t dwell on guilt—simply get back on track. Progress, not perfection, is key.
Results take time, and consistency matters more than intensity. Focus on building healthy habits—daily movement, portion control, and hydration—so they become second nature.
