About Oats Chapati (Oat Roti)
Roti or chapati is one of the staple dish which we cook at home. So this hack of adding oat flour is a great way to add some fibre in your day to day meal. Oats chapati is a healthy recipe which taste great as well. This is great way of adding oats in your diet.
Oats is rich in fibre and we make oatmeal | oats porridge for breakfast most of the time. But some don’t prefer to make porridge, so this is a great hack to include oats in your diet. Start by dry roasting oats in a pan and grind them to a powder in a blender. This is your oat flour. You can keep them in a container at room temperature.
I prefer to add a spoonful of this oat flour in my smoothies or milkshakes to add extra fibre and thick creamy texture. Similarly you can add oat flour to your atta and make roti.

Take wheat flour in a bowl |
knead to a dough |
knead for a good 5 mins to get a soft dough..leave it to rest for 15 mins |
now divide it into equal balls |
take a ball and dust with flour |
roll it into roti |
place it on a hot tawa |
cook till the top is slightly cooked |
flip over and cook |
flip over and cook |
if you press the top, then it will puff up |

- Make sure to make the dough soft and smooth. So your roti turn out softer.
- Knead the dough for atleast 2 to 3 minutes until the dough is soft.
- Resting the dough for few minutes makes oats roti soft.
- You can use ghee instead of oil for cooking roti.

Oats roti can be stored in a hot casserole to keep warm. You can enjoy it with any curries of choice.
