Delhi Assembly Elections Highlights: A high-decibel Delhi poll campaign is underway ahead of the February 5 voting day, as part of which the political parties are hitting the ground and taking their vision to the people.
AAP’s campaign was hit by a massive controversy after party chief Arvind Kejriwal claimed that Haryana was contaminating the Yamuna river with “poison” before the water entered Delhi. Prime Minister Narendra Modi slammed him for his remarks, stating that he himself, along with other residents of the city and top officials drink the same water.
The Election Commission of India had sought a response from Kejriwal on his remark by 8 pm on Wednesday, replying to which the AAP chief said that the raw water received from the neighbouring state was “highly contaminated and extremely poisonous” for human health.
