NEET UG 2025: NTA has encouraged candidates to update their Aadhaar details and integrate their APAAR ID for registration.
NEET UG 2025: The National Testing Agency (NTA) has released an official notice clarifying that the APAAR ID is not mandatory for the registration process of the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET-UG) 2025. While the previous notice released on January 14, 2025, encouraged candidates to update their Aadhaar credentials and integrate their APAAR ID (formerly known as Academic Bank of Credits or ABC ID), NTA confirmed that it is not required for NEET UG 2025 registration.
As per the official notice, aspirants can continue to register for the NEET UG 2025 exam using other available methods, which will be detailed in the upcoming information bulletin.
1. Visit the DigiLocker Portal: Go to official website- digilocker.gov.in
If you are a new user, click on the “Sign up” button. Otherwise, click “Sign in” to access your account.
2. Create an Account:
Fill in the required details and set a six-digit login PIN for added security.
Click the “Submit” button.
Enter the OTP sent to your registered mobile number and click “Submit.”
3. Sign In:
After logging out, sign in again using your registered mobile number and security PIN.
Verify the OTP prompt and click “Submit.”
4. Navigate to the ABC ID Section:
Once logged in, go to the homepage and click the “Join Now” button under the Academic Bank of Credits (ABC) banner.
A new window for ABC (APAAR) ID creation will pop up.
5. Enter Details:
Fill in the required information. Your Name, Date of Birth, and Gender will be prepopulated from Aadhaar.
Enter the Admission Year, Identity Type, and Identity Value, then select your academic institution from the drop-down list.
6. Select Your Institution:
Scroll through the options, select your institution, and click “Ok.”
Review your entered details and check the consent statement before clicking the “Get Document” button.
A confirmation message will appear stating, “Your request has been submitted.”
7. Download ABC ID:
You will be redirected to the “Issued Documents” section, where your ABC ID will be displayed.
Click on the download icon to save the PDF version of your ABC ID
