UPSC Civil Services Exam 2025 Notification: The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) will release the Civil Services Examination (CSE) 2025 notification today, January 22. Along with the notification, the application process will also begin. Candidates can find detailed information, including the syllabus and exam pattern, on the UPSC website at upsc.gov.in. This year, the notification will be released earlier than usual, as it typically comes out in February. However, the exact time of the release is not yet announced, so keep checking for updates.

Last year, UPSC announced 1,056 vacancies for CSE and 150 for IFoS. The CSE interview session is currently ongoing and will end in April. The CSE 2025 prelims exam will be held on May 25. Candidates who score above the cut-off in the prelims will be eligible for the UPSC mains exam, which will be held from August 22 for five days.

Number Of Attempts For Each Category

  • General category candidates can take up to six attempts to clear the UPSC CSE exam.
  • OBC and PwBD category candidates get up to nine attempts.
  • SC and ST category candidates have a relaxation in the number of attempts.

Age Limit

General category candidates must be at least 21 years old but not older than 32 years on August 1 of the year they are applying.

Exam Structure

The UPSC CSE exam consists of three stages: The first stage is the Prelims, which is a screening test. Candidates who qualify the Prelims move on to the Mains, a descriptive exam. Those who pass the Mains are then invited for the final stage, the Interview.
