JEE Main 2025 Exam To Begin Tomorrow, Check Dress Code, Do’s And Don’ts

The JEE Main exam is set to begin tomorrow, January 22, 2025. The National Testing Agency (NTA) has released guidelines for the JEE Main 2025 exam. Around 13.8 lakh students have registered for the JEE Main Session 1 exam this year. All information related to the JEE Main 2025 exam can be checked on the official NTA website at jeemain.nta.nic.in.

Paper 1 (BE/BTech) will be held on January 22, 23, 24, 28, and 29, 2025. The first shift will be from 9 am to 12 pm, and the second shift will be from 3 pm to 6 pm. Paper 2A (B.Arch), Paper 2B (B.Planning), and Paper 2A & 2B (B.Arch and B.Planning) will be conducted on January 30, 2025, from 3 pm to 6:30 pm.

JEE Main 2025 Dress Code: General Guidelines

The dress code focuses on comfort and simplicity while avoiding items that could cause security issues. Candidates should avoid wearing metallic accessories, as they may interfere with security checks. Clothing should be light and appropriate for the season.

For Male Candidates:

  • Avoid clothes with metallic parts like buckles or decorations.
  • Do not wear caps, mufflers, or any head covering.
  • Choose lightweight and breathable clothes for comfort.
  • Jewellery, including chains, bracelets, and rings, is not allowed.
  • Avoid shoes with thick soles; simple sandals or slippers are recommended.

For Female Candidates:

  • Avoid wearing stoles, dupattas, scarves, or any clothes that could slow down security checks.
  • Do not wear jewellery or metallic items like rings, earrings, or bracelets.
  • Wear simple, comfortable clothes suitable for the weather.
  • Heavy accessories or goggles are not allowed.

Do’s And Don’ts For JEE Main Exam Day

Do’s on Exam Day:

Arrive Early: Reach the examination center at least 2 hours before the exam starts.

Take Your Assigned Seat: Go directly to your assigned seat as soon as the exam hall opens.

Listen to the Instructions Carefully: Pay attention to the instructions given by the exam authorities.

Show Your Admit Card: Be ready to present your admit card when asked by the authorities.

Carry a Printed Admit Card: Bring a printed copy of your JEE Main admit card to the exam center.

Ask for Help if Needed: If you face any issues, such as technical problems or need first aid, reach out to the invigilator or Centre Superintendent.

Carry All Your Stationery: Bring necessary stationery items like a ballpoint pen and others for the exam.

ID Proof: Carry one of the authorised photo IDs approved by NTA. The ID must be original, valid, and not expired.

Don’ts On Exam Day:

Do Not Sit in Someone Else’s Seat: Only sit in your assigned seat.

Do Not Bring Restricted Items: Leave these items at home as they are not allowed:

    • Instruments, geometry box, pencil box, handbag, purse.
    • Papers, stationery, or any printed/written materials.
    • Food, drinks (packed or loose), or water bottles.
    • Mobile phones, earphones, microphones, pagers, calculators, or smartwatches.
    • Cameras, tape recorders, or any electronic gadgets/devices.
    • Any metallic items.

Diabetic candidates can bring sugar tablets, fruits (like bananas, oranges, or apples), and a transparent water bottle.

Avoid Unfair Practices: Do not:

    • Help or receive help from other candidates.
    • Break any exam rules or instructions provided by NTA.
    • Impersonate someone else or bring materials for cheating.
    • Communicate with anyone who is not taking the exam.
    • Threaten officials or other candidates.
    • Use dishonest methods during the exam.
    • Alter or fake official documents like admit cards, rank letters, or self-declarations.
