DFCCIL-GSV centre to boost India’s rail freight transport services

The Dedicated Freight Corridor Corporation of India Limited (DFCCIL) recently signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Gati Shakti Vishwavidyalaya (GSV), a central university, to create a centre of excellence to foster innovation and develop comprehensive strategies for India’s rail freight transport services.

The collaboration involves DFCCIL’s Heavy Haul Institute (HHI) in Noida and its objective is to develop a long-term, integrated freight transportation plan leading up to 2030.

The Dedicated Freight Corridor Corporation of India Ltd has signed an MoU with Gati Shakti Vishwavidyalaya to create a centre of excellence to foster innovation and develop comprehensive strategies for India’s rail freight transport services.
The collaboration involves DFCCIL’s Heavy Haul Institute in Noida and aims at developing a long-term, integrated freight transportation plan.

It focuses on improving the capacity, quality, and competitiveness of India’s rail freight services, while also implementing actionable, time-bound strategies to enhance heavy-haul freight capabilities, according to Indian media reports.

The major areas of cooperation are development of academic curriculum, joint training programmes, research support, faculty and student services and internships.
