VADODARA: The BCC has kickstarted the process to elect its new secretary and treasurer. On Saturday, the BCCI sent a brief notice informing its members about the Special General Meeting (SGM) on January 12 in its headquarters in Mumbai in which the main agenda is the election of a new secretary and treasurer.
TOI had reported about this development on Dec 21. The need for the Board to elect its new office-bearers came about after previous secretary Jay Shah resigned to assume the role of Independent Chair of the ICC, while treasurer Ashish Shelar quit his post after taking oath as a cabinet minister in the new Maharashtra Government.
After Shah’s exit, BCCI secretary Roger Binny asked jt secretary Devajit Saikia to discharge the functions of the secretary on an interim basis.
