Brazilian forward Vinicius Junior was named The Best FIFA Men’s Player for the year 2024 on Tuesday as the Real Madrid winger got a major individual award after having missed out on the Ballon d’Or to Manchester City and Spain midfielder Rodri a

of months ago.

Vinicius clinched the La Liga, and UEFA Champions League double with Madrid but was pipped to the French Football Award by Rodri, who won the Premier League and the Euro 2024.

Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti was named the Best coach of the year as he led the Spanish giants to a record-extending 15th UEFA Champions League title last season and also managed to win La Liga with the capital city side.

Star Barcelona women’s midfielder Aitana Bonmati was named the Best Female Player of the Year adding another feather in her cap following her crowing moment at the Ballon d’Or.

Manchester United winger Alejandro Garnacho won the Puskas Award for the Best goal of the year for his splendid bicycle kick goal against Everton in the previous campaign.

Aston Villa custodian Emiliano Martinez claimed the Best Goalkeeper Award for the second time in three years, as the Argentina shot-stopper added to his ever-growing list of individual accolades.

USA women’s team and former Chelsea head coach Emma Hayes was named the Best women’s coach of the year.

USAWNT goalie Alyssa Naeher was named the Best women’s goalkeeper of the year.
