Two notable 160cc motorcycles from TVS and Hero have recently received updates with new features and minor changes to their design. Here’s how they stack up against each other.

While both motorcycles remain mechanically unchanged, the Apache RTR 160 4V maintains its lead while offering three riding modes, more power and slightly more torque in comparison to the Xtreme 160R 4V. While the Hero archives peak torque slightly sooner in the rev range, the difference is negligible with the TVS taking the lead.

While the top-spec variant of the Apache RTR 160 4V is a mere 1kg heavier, the base variant tips the scales at 143kg. That being said, it’s heavier, longer and boasts of a higher ground clearance when compared to a similarly spec’d Xtreme 160R 4V.

While the Xtreme 160R 4V was always available with a USD fork, the Apache RTR 160 4V also gets a USD fork for its top variant. While both motorcycles are evenly matched with their suspension, the Apache RTR 160 4V gets a slight edge in overall braking components while both motorcycles are offered with dual-channel ABS in their top-spec variants.
