UPSC NDA, NA Examination 2024: Selection Process
Candidates need to undergo a two-tiered selection process, which includes a written examination and an interview round (SSB test). For the SSB test, aspirants will be shortlisted on the basis of their performance in the written test.
Coming to the NDA and NA written examination, the test will consist of two papers—Mathematics (300 marks) and General Ability Test (600 marks). The exams encompassing objective-type questions will be held for 150 minutes each. It is to be noted that the written examination carries a negative mark of 0.33 for each incorrect answer.
The SSB interview, which will assess the candidate’s intelligence and personality, also has two phases and carries 900 marks. Only those aspirants who pass the first phase can appear for the second phase of the interview. In addition to that, candidates must qualify for the Computerised Pilot Selection System (CPSS) to be admitted to the Air Force course.
