While it is known that Prince Harry and his wife Meghan Markle have a strained equation with the UK’s royal family, it seems things between them aren’t resolving anytime soon. Harry and Meghan, who now live in the US after stepping back from their duties as senior members of the royal family, haven’t been invited by King Charles III for their annual Christmas get-together at Sandringham, reported Fox News.
The last time Prince Harry and Meghan attended the UK royals’ Christmas celebration at Sandringham was in 2018, the year when they got married. Since the Sussexes aren’t invited to the family get-together, they’ll be celebrating Christmas and the holiday season in the US, reports suggest.
It is noted that the Christmas celebration at Sandringham was an annual tradition in the royal family which was started by the late Queen Elizabeth. And so, the annual celebration is quite a big thing for the royal family. This year, the tradition is being continued by King Charles III and it will be attended by him and Queen Camilla, Prince William and Kate Middleton along with their children, and other senior members of the royal family.
This year’s Christmas celebration is also going to be special for the royal family as they navigated major problems together as a family, and emerged stronger. Both King Charles III and Kate Middleton were diagnosed with cancer and they were treated this year. Former royal butler Grant Harrold shared that this year the royal family’s focus will be on togetherness while continuing their family’s traditions, as per Fox News.
Meanwhile, it seems that Prince Harry and his wife Meghan’s tensions with his family keep increasing– be it with the Sussexes stepping back from their royal duties and moving to the US, them giving explosive interviews about the royal family, r Prince Harry’s controversial memoir ‘Spare’ which criticized the royal family and the crown.
