Starting today, November 28, parents of children below six years old can apply for admission to private unaided recognised schools across the national capital for the academic session 2025-26

The Directorate of Education, Delhi, is all set to begin the admission process for nursery, KG, and class 1 across schools in the capital. Starting today, November 28, parents of children below six years old can apply for admission to private unaided recognised schools across the national capital for the academic session 2025-26. The deadline to apply is December 20. Schools may charge a non-refundable registration fee of Rs 25, and purchasing the school prospectus is optional.
The admission calendar includes open-seat admissions for groups other than Economically Weaker Sections (EWS), Disadvantaged Groups (DG), and Children with Special Needs (CWSN). Furthermore, under the provisions of the Right to Education Act, a significant 25 per cent of seats are set aside for EWS, DG, and CWSN pupils.
Delhi Nursery Admission 2025-26 Full Schedule
November 28, 2024: Application forms will be made available, and the admissions process begins.
December 20, 2024: The deadline for submitting application forms to schools.
January 3, 2025: Uploading information about children who applied to the school for admission through Open Seats.
January 10, 2025: Uploading marks (according to the points system) assigned to each child who requested admission under open seats.
January 17, 2025: Schools will release the first list of selected candidates, including waiting lists, using a point-based method.
January 18 to 27, 2025: Resolution of any parent queries (by written/email/verbal interaction) regarding the allocation of points to their children for the first list.
February 3, 2025: The date for publishing the second list of selected children (if any) (including the waiting list) (together with the marks assigned under the points system).
February 5 to 11, 2025: Resolution of any parental queries (by written/email/verbal interaction) regarding the allocation of points to their kids in the second list.
February 26, 2025: Second list of qualified candidates.
March 14, 2025: End of admission process.
“To conduct the admission process smoothly at the Entry Level Classes (below six years of age) in Private Unaided Recognized Schools of Delhi the following admission schedule along with instructions is issued for conducting admissions for the Open Seats (other than EWS/DG/CWSN Category seats) for the academic session 2025-26,” reads the official notice. Besides, to maintain transparency, the timetable requires institutions to prominently post this admission timeline on their websites and notice boards.
