Amiri opens first India store in Delhi

US-based men’s and women’s apparel and accessories brand Amiri has made its brick-and-mortar debut in India. The label opened an exclusive brand outlet in New Delhi’s premium shopping mall The Chanakya with a host of celebrity guests.

Bringing its ‘California Cool’ American West Coast spirit to the East, Amiri launches its first ever store in India, at The Chanakya,” the premium shopping centre announced on Facebook. “A true 21st century icon, Shubman Gill, popped by the exclusive Amiri store launch with his trademark swagger. Head to the Amiri store today for all your elevated relaxed styles, now open at The Chanakya.”
 
Bollywood celebrity Shanaya Kapoor also attended the store’s inauguration wearing sporty garments from its latest collection. The Amiri store has a bright, white interior with hints of natural wood and a baby blue floor. The minimalist style boutique highlights the label’s bold garments and open shelving displays its selection of sculptural handbags.
 
Amiri joins a broad range of Indian and international brands at The Chanakya in New Delhi’s Chanakyapuri neighbourhood including Chanel, Brioni, Ethos Summit, Janavi India, Mont Blanc, Outhouse, Ralph Lauren, Saint Laurent, Ted Baker, and Rolex among others, according to its website. The mall spans 189,000 square feet and is a project by DLF Group.
 
Mike Amiri launched Amiri in Los Angeles, US in 2014 after a career creating stage outfits for a range of musicians. The label is inspired by music and skateboarding culture on the West coast of the US. Globally, the brand retails from its direct to customer e-commerce store.
