Maharashtra polls: It’ll be Eknath Shinde vs Uddhav Thackeray for 51 seats and Shiv Sena’s soul | Nagpur News
The upcoming Maharashtra assembly election will see a fierce battle for the Shiv Sena’s legacy, with CM Eknath Shinde’s faction facing off against former CM Uddhav Thackeray’s party in 51 constituencies

NAGPUR: The assembly election is set to witness a direct contest between Shiv Sena led by CM Eknath Shinde and Shiv Sena (UBT) led by former CM Uddhav Thackeray in 51 constituencies, reports Vaibhav Ganjapure.
One of the seats is Kopri-Pachpakhadi from where Shinde is fighting against his mentor Anand Dighe’s nephew Kedar Dighe.
This election is not just about seats – it is a battle for the soul of Shiv Sena and legacy of party founder Balasaheb Thackeray. Adding to the stakes, Raj Thackeray’s MNS has entered the fray, contesting over 120 seats, making the fight even more intense in regions where it directly challenges Shinde and Uddhav’s parties, say observers.
In traditional Sena strongholds like Mumbai, Thane, and Palghar, 18 seats will be the key battlegrounds, with both parties determined to establish dominance. Uddhav’s campaign has appealed to traditional Sena values while dubbing Shinde as a betrayer.
