Vietnamese PM calls for stronger business partnerships with China

Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh recently called for stronger partnerships between businesses from his country and China to concretise agreements, commitments and common perceptions reached by the two countries.

He made the call while addressing the Vietnam-China Business Seminar in Chongqing city as part of his ongoing tour of China to attend the 8th Greater Mekong Sub-region (GMS) Cooperation Summit and related summits.

It is also doubling efforts to build an open, transparent, fair and healthy business and investment environment, he added.

As of October 2024, China poured almost $30 billion in investment capital in nearly 5,000 projects in Vietnam. Trade between both sides stood at $172 billion last year and $190.9 billion in the first nine months this year—a year-on-year increase of 14.5 per cent.
