Carlo Ancelotti is currently under pressure with Real Madrid yet suffering two crushing losses at home against the likes of FC Barcelona and Milan recently. The Los Blancos reportedly have plans in place should the club be forced to fire the five-time Champions League winner.

According to a report by the Spanish outlet OK Diaro, Real Madrid could look to bring back Santiago Solari to take over the managerial job. The Argentine is the club’s Director of Football and has coached the side for 32 games. He had come in following the dismissal of Julen Lopetegui in 2018.

He helped Real Madrid win the Club World Cup but was eventually sacked from the job after the disappointing Champions League loss to Ajax in March 2019. His role was eventually taken over by club legend Zinedine Zidane.

The report however suggests that the club is not keen on getting rid of Ancelotti and is confident that he can help the team recover from their slump in form. But the club remains wary of all possible scenarios, just in case.

Many expected the club to reach new heights after they brought in Kylian Mbappe after winning the Champions League last season. But so far, the Frenchman has yet to fully integrate himself with the team as he struggles playing the designated striker’s position.

The defending Champions League winners, currently find themselves 18th in the competition having won and lost two games each so far. In La Liga, they find themselves second in the league table but have an 11-point gap to the leaders.

Madrid’s defence has also been under fire with the holding midfielder, Aurlien Tchouameni struggling to hold the fort on the defensive side of things. Injuries have also affected the side with the likes of Dani Carvajal and Thibaut Courtois struggling to get on the pitch.

The upcoming three games will be crucial in determining the future of Ancelotti at the club. Madrid will take on Osasuna and Leganes in the domestic league competition and will face a tough test against the Champions League leaders Liverpool as well.
