Bihar Teacher, Taught By Mother, Clears BPSC

In 2006, Rakesh started working as a Panchayat teacher.

Rakesh, a contractual teacher of Rajkiya Utkramit Madhya Vidyalaya Shivrama of the Patori block area of Samastipur district of Bihar, cleared the Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) to become a teacher in Bihar government school. Being a contractual teacher, Rakesh never neglected the studies of the children in his school. His teaching method and his commitment towards the children made him successful in the Principal Teacher Examination conducted by BPSC. He passed this examination without any major difficulty and fulfilled his dream of becoming a BPSC teacher.

Rakesh cleared the Bihar Administrative Services exam twice but could not make it to the merit list due to undisclosed reasons. However, he never distanced himself from his books and always gave priority to studies in his daily routine. Rakesh’s story proves that any goal can be achieved with hard work and dedication. His experience in teaching will help him in carrying out his responsibilities as a BPSC Principal.

While talking to Local18, Rakesh listed out his achievements. He said that he succeeded in the Bihar Administrative Service Examination twice, but could not make it to the merit list. Still, he never gave up and continued his studies. In 2006, he got the opportunity to work as a Panchayat teacher. “Since then I built a deep bond with the children, which allowed me to become a BPSC Principal Teacher today. There is an atmosphere of happiness in his family due to this success,” said Rakesh.

The BPSC qualifier shared that in his childhood he did not go out for tuition, because his mother, who was a teacher, used to teach him. This family support and dedication became the basis of his success. The success story of Rakesh is a testament to hard work and resilience.

With this recruitment drive, the Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) seeks to fill a total of 6,061 headmaster positions in senior secondary schools and 40,247 headteacher positions in primary schools under the Education Department. This effort aims to strengthen the teaching leadership in educational institutions across the state by appointing qualified candidates to these significant roles.
