As Bollywood gears up for the festive celebration of Karwa Chauth, Kajol took a moment to share a delightful throwback on Instagram. The actress posted a nostalgic still from her iconic 1995 film Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge (DDLJ) alongside Shah Rukh Khan, paying tribute to the movie’s famous Karwa Chauth scene that has remained etched in the hearts of fans for decades.

In her lighthearted Instagram post, Kajol reminded fans of the original cinematic portrayal of Karwa Chauth, saying, “29 years to the OG of Karva Chauth… wishing everyone a very hungry and successful Karva Chauth .. maybe go to Maratha Mandir and see the film.” The reference to Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge was not lost on fans, as the film is still celebrated for its beautiful depiction of love and tradition.
For those unfamiliar, Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge, which was released on October 20, 1995, features an emotional Karwa Chauth scene. Kajol’s character, Simran, is engaged to be married to Kuljeet, played by Parmeet Sethi. However, instead of breaking her fast with him, she cleverly finds a way to break it with Raj, played by Shah Rukh Khan, the true love of her life. This iconic scene is one of the most memorable in Bollywood’s portrayal of Karwa Chauth.
While fans continue to cherish her old films, Kajol remains busy with new projects. She will soon be seen in the murder mystery Do Patti, which is set to stream on Netflix from October 25. The film is produced by Kriti Sanon’s Blue Butterfly Films in collaboration with Kanika Dhillon’s Kathha Pictures.
