Nagpur: In a lavishly conducted event by the Nagpur Division of Central Railway, the 20-coach Nagpur-Secunderabad Vande Bharat was flagged off virtually by Prime Minister Narendra Modi from Ahmedabad on Monday.
The inauguration was held amid fanfare at home platform number 8 at the Santra Market side of the Nagpur railway station in the presence of state governor CP Radhakrishnan, Union minister Nitin Gadkari, and senior railway officials.

The train will officially run six days a week (except Tuesday) from September 19. It will leave Nagpur at 5am and reach Secunderabad at12.15 pm. The same rake will start at 1pm and return to Nagpur at 8.20pm.
The CR organised an extravagant launch function on Monday. Most of the attendees were college and school students and staff members. The inaugural run had invitees like DRUCC and ZRUCC members besides NGOs, and family members of the staff.
The students and teachers enjoyed their journey to Sevagram from where they returned on a special train. There were around 1,500 passengers at the inaugural run. Gadkari too had a ride to Ajni where the train stopped for two minutes. The train started at 4.25pm and reached Ballarshah in 2.5 hours. “This is 30 minutes early compared to other mail/express trains,” said Brij Bhushan Shukla, a ZRUCC member.
