Volkswagen Tiguan mileage, price, city and highway fuel efficiency, specs, features

The Tiguan uses a punchy 2.0-litre TSI engine that offers exciting performance.

I am planning to buy a VW Tiguan with a 2.0-litre TSI petrol engine. Could you please guide me on the real-world mileage of the SUV in a city like Bangalore? What mileage can I expect on the highway at a cruising speed of about 100 kph? Also, to what level could it drop if I drive at speeds of 140kph-150kph?

Mr. Pandurang Jadhav, Bangalore

Autocar India says: The Tiguan isn’t particularly fuel-efficient. In fact, the petrol engine is rather thirsty. You can expect the SUV to return a mileage of around 6.5kpl-7.5kpl in the city, with an overall average speed of 18kph-19kph. This number will improve when traffic is lighter. On the highway, it is possible to achieve 13kpl-14kpl by driving between 90kph and 110kph. However, the faster you go, the efficiency will drop and could even return single digits at 140kph-150kph.
