Fear of God recruits former Jacquemus boss Bastien Daguzan

Bastien Daguzan’s next role has been closely scrutinised since his departure from Jacquemus eight months ago and has finally been unveiled. He is moving to Los Angeles. The French manager has been appointed CEO of Fear of God, the increasingly successful high-end streetwear brand founded in 2013 by Jerry Lorenzo. He succeeds Alfred Chang, who took over as CEO of the Californian brand in 2023.

With this new CEO, Fear of God aims to move up a gear, focusing on its international expansion, online sales experience and growing brand awareness, as the brand told US newspaper WWD when announcing the appointment.

In the space of a decade, the label has grown, offering its vision of a cool, sophisticated America through high-quality streetwear and sportswear. In particular, it has expanded its offering with the ‘Essentials’ line of basics and by successfully entering the footwear segment.

To support its next stage of development, Fear of God will be able to count on the luxury expertise of Bastien Daguzan. Originally from the south-west of France, Bastien Daguzan holds a degree in international business law from the Sorbonne in Paris, after specialising in design and luxury at the Institut français de la mode. He began his career in fashion in 2008 at Kris Van Assche, where he headed up sales and development for five years.

In 2013, he became managing director of Lemaire, working closely with the duo Christophe Lemaire and Sarah Linh Tran. He promoted the brand’s collaboration with Uniqlo, culminating in the Japanese Fast Retailing giant taking a minority stake in the label, which grew from €2 million to €10 million in three years (2015-2017).

In March 2017, Bastien Daguzan joined the Catalan group Puig, taking over as head of Paco Rabanne‘s fashion division, where he helped reposition the brand alongside its artistic director Julien Dossena, steering it towards direct distribution. He generated triple-digit growth and quadrupled the number of multi-brand retailers, while playing an active role in the launch of the first Pacollection fragrance range.

In 2022, Bastien Daguzan joined Jacquemus, becoming the first external managing director of the Parisian brand, which until then had been run by its founder and designer Simon Porte Jacquemus. Bastien Daguzan accompanied the brand’s exponential growth, notably by structuring its management and initiating its retail development, before being dismissed at the end of 2023.
