NIRF 2024: Jamia Hamdard seizes the top spot, check India’s top 10 pharmacy colleges

The Ministry of Education announced the ninth edition of the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) 2024 on August 12, 2024, with Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan in attendance. First introduced by the Ministry on September 29, 2015, the NIRF offers a comprehensive system for ranking institutions across India.
It evaluates higher education institutions using five key criteria: Teaching, Learning, and Resources (TLR); Research and Professional Practices (RPC); Graduation Outcomes (GO); Outreach and Inclusivity (OI); and Perception (PER).
In the NIRF ranking 2024, Jamia Hamdard has bagged the first rank followed by the National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research Hyderabad securing the second position, and Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani claiming the third rank. NIRF Pharmacy College Rankings 2024 Vs 2023

Jamia Hamdard has ascended to the top position, surpassing the National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research (NIPER) Hyderabad, which now holds the second rank. The third, fourth, and fifth positions remain the same as the previous year. JSS College of Pharmacy, Mysore, has improved its standing by moving up from 7th to 6th place. Panjab University has also made progress, advancing from 8th to 7th place.
Manipal College of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Manipal, has seen an upward shift from 9th to 8th place, while the National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research (NIPER), Mohali, has experienced a decline, dropping from 6th to 9th place. Meanwhile, SVKM’s Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies has risen from 11th to 10th place. On the other hand, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham has slipped from 10th to 13th place this year.

Other Details

Until 2023, the NIRF rankings featured 13 categories, such as Overall, Universities, Colleges, Engineering, Management, Pharmacy, Medical, Law, Architecture, Dental, Innovation, Agriculture, and Research Institutions. This year, the inclusion of three new categories, State Public Universities, Skill Universities, and Open Universities has expanded the total to 16.
