Paris Olympics 2024, Day 1, Live Updates: Star badminton pair Chirag Shetty/Satwiksairaj Rankireddy is on action. Making his Olympics debut in Paris, Indian shuttler Lakshya Sen got off to a winning start on Day 1. The 21-year-old defeated Guatemala’s Kevin Cordon 21-8, 22-20 in just over 40 minutes. Sen won the first game convincingly, before Cordon took a shock 20-16 lead against him in the second game. However, Sen won six straight points to turn the tide on the 37-year-old. In table tennis, Harmeet Desai too got off to winning start, beating Jordan’s Abo Yaman Zaid 4-0 in the preliminary round. Earlier, Shooter Manu Bhaker has qualified for the Women’s 10m Air Pistol final at the Chateauroux Shooting Center.
