Nagpur: Vicco chairman Yeshwant Pendharkar passed away in the city on Friday. Yeshwant’s brother Gajanan passed away in 2015, followed by his youngest brother Ashok the very next year.
Yeshwant’s nephew Devesh said, “It was in the last three months that his health began deteriorating due to old age, else he did not have any major disease or complications.Till last month, he was involved in the business.”
Vicco started their Nagpur unit in the 1980s and their residence in the Civil Lines area always gave an impression of them being a local entrepreneur family. But Vicco’s roots lie in Dombivli, where company founder Keshav started a factory in early 1950s. In 1985, when Vicco started its Nagpur operations, founder Keshav’s younger son Jayant shifted to Nagpur to head the business.
