What a time Kriti Sanon has been having at the box office. While she first delivered a good success with Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya earlier this year that went past the Rs. 85 crores lifetime, now her newest release Crew is set to do even bigger business if the start is any indication. The film has seen one of the best opening ever for the actress and while the first day is already into double digits, the weekend will see the collections further go up and May be even challenge Bachchan Pandey (Rs. 36.17 crores).
Crew is in fact also Kriti’s fifth double digit opener and has gone last Luka Chuppi’s opening. The film which has moved out of the Top-10 is Panipat which had scored Rs. 4.12 crores on its opening day. 6 of these 10 movies went on to be successful at the box office and now Crew is set to be seventh, which is a good success rate for the actress when it comes to a film doing well beyond the opening as well.
This is how Kriti’s Top-10 openers look like:
Adipurush – Rs. 36 crores
Dilwale – Rs. 21 crores
Housefull 4 – Rs. 19.08 crores
Bachchan Pandey – Rs. 13.25 crores
Crew – Rs. 10.28 crores
Luka Chuppi – Rs. 8.01 crores
Bhediya – Rs. 7.48 crores
Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya – Rs. 7.02 crores
Shehzada – Rs. 7 crores
Heropanti – Rs. 6.63 crores
For all the flak that Adipurush received last year, it stays on to be her biggest opener till date and that too by a margin with Dilwale being Rs. 15 crores behind. Unless something really big comes up, Adipurush will stay on to be there at least from the opening day perspective, though Crew has the potential to eventually challenge its lifetime score (Rs. 136 crores). It would be quite tough and hence all eyes are on the weekend growth to assess if that becomes possible.
