The railways has worked out a comprehensive plan to tackle the post-Holi rush of passengers at most of the stations falling under the East Central Railway (ECR). The crowd management system (CMS) has been introduced at all crowded stations of the ECR, including Patna Junction, to contain rush and avoid any stampede-like situation on platforms.
According to the ECR’s chief public relations officer (CPRO) Birendra Kumar, the railways has appointed nodal officers at all major stations to monitor the crowd movement. “While the chief passenger traffic manager, chief commercial manager and chief security commissioner have been nominated as nodal officers at the East Central Railway headquarters in Hajipur, ADRM is tasked with the job of a nodal officer in each division to supervise the rush,” he said.
The Danapur divisional railway manager Jayant Kumar Choudhary said railways has directed all station masters and control rooms not to change the platform of any train at the last moment.
