To commemorate International Women’s Day, UPES announces a Rs 50 lakh corpus for women-led startups, along with fellowships for PhD scholars and insurance cover for support staff
UPES announced a corpus of Rs 50 lakh for the Runway Programme – to support startups founded by women entrepreneurs. The university has also pledged its support to 50 women scholars pursuing Ph.D at UPES by offering them fellowships to encourage their academic pursuits and facilitate their research endeavours. The university also announced a Rs 2 lakh insurance cover specifically designed for the women support staff, reaffirming its commitment to their personal and professional growth.
Bollywood singer Daler Mehndi announced the launch of ‘Aaj Ki Rani’ musical video, a song celebrating women’s empowerment and modern strength—music composed by Nishant Ramteke and lyrics by Dr Sharad Mehra.
UPES launched a Women’s Bike Rally, led by social worker Geeta Pushkar Dhami, at Dehradun Cantt. The event, attended by 300 staff, faculty and 200 students, showcased the resilience and capabilities of women from various backgrounds.
