CLEMSON, S.C.: Clemson defensive tackle DeMonte Capehart is back with the team after weapon and traffic charges were expunged through a pretrial intervention program for first-time offenders charged with nonviolent crimes.

Capehart is a 6-foot-5, fifth-year senior from Hartsville who played 12 games in a reserve role in 2023. He finished with 15 tackles with five of those for loss including a sack.

Capehart was arrested and charged earlier this month with unlawfully possessing a firearm on campus and failure to exercise due care while operating a motor vehicle. Both those charges were dropped last week, according to online state court records.

A school spokesman said Monday that Capehart completed the pre-trial program and was reinstated to the team, which begins spring workouts on Wednesday.
