JetSetGo, leading marketplace for private jet and helicopter charters, has entered strategic partnerships with global aviation technology leaders Electra.aero, Horizon Aircraft, and Overair. The collaboration, valued at over USD 1.3 billion, aims to propel India‘s Advanced Air Mobility (AAM) sector into the future, introducing cutting-edge solutions for enhanced mobility and connectivity across urban and regional landscapes.
The partnerships, unveiled at the inaugural AAM conference held at Begumpet Airport, involve JetSetGo acquiring 150 aircraft with an aggregate deal value of USD 780 million. The agreements also include options for additional aircraft, potentially scaling the fleet size to 280, thereby raising the overall deal value above USD 1.3 billion.
JetSetGo said that the partnerships promise to revolutionise India’s aviation sector by introducing AAM solutions, leveraging unique technologies such as Electra’s blown lift system, Horizon Aircraft’s hybrid-powered fan-in-wing lift system, and Overair’s electrically-powered optimal speed tilt rotors.
JetSetGo has identified five use cases for optimal AAM application: airport transfers, regional connectivity, intercity commute, intracity shuttles, and urban air taxis. The chosen aircraft designs align with these use cases, offering hybrid-electric planes for immediate deployment and advanced electric eVTOL aircraft for future urban air mobility applications.
AAM utilises electric and hybrid-electric propulsion for air taxi-style services, promising eco-friendly intra-city and last-mile transportation options, contributing to sustainable urban and regional transport.
With India’s vast untapped potential and geographical expanse, the country serves as an ideal testbed for sustainable air taxi and commuter solutions. JetSetGo aims to pioneer AAM’s application, leading discussions and debates in India to make AAM a reality.
Kanika Tekriwal, JetSetGo’s CEO and Co-founder, expressed enthusiasm about the partnerships, stating, “The scale of the agreements we’ve signed this week emphasises the scale of our ambition and belief in these new technologies.”Brandon Robinson, CEO of Horizon, added, “We are confident that our Cavorite X7 eVTOL will operate sustainably and profitably across India as well as many other global locations.”
Marc Ausman, Chief Product Officer of Electra.aero, highlighted the unique capabilities of their aircraft, enabling JetSetGo to identify new routes and deliver sustainable, affordable air connections to underserved communities.
Valerie Manning, Chief Commercial Officer for Overair, said, “Butterfly will provide a safe, quiet, and efficient mobility solution for urban and regional transport across a broad range of weather conditions and geographic environments.”
