In a recent user generated poll conducted on the social discovery app Hunch, over 10,000 Gen Z individuals shared their travel preferences for this winter season, unveiling intriguing insights into the favoured domestic destinations. The poll, initiated by a user about the top travel destinations this season, showcased the top spots for both beach lovers and mountain enthusiasts among the younger demographic.
Topping the list among domestic beach destinations was the beloved coastal haven of Goa, captivating a staggering 40.6 per cent of respondents. Known for its pristine beaches, vibrant nightlife, and rich cultural offerings, Goa maintains its stronghold as the go-to destination for those seeking sun-soaked shores and a lively ambiance, the poll mentioned.
Securing a second place, Himachal Pradesh attracted 24.9 per cent of respondents as their preferred mountain retreat. As per the poll, the allure of Himalayan landscapes, valleys, and ample adventure opportunities makes Himachal Pradesh a magnetic choice for Gen Z travellers in search of a serene mountain escape.
Following closely behind, Uttarakhand claimed the third spot with 18.1 per cent of respondents charmed by its natural beauty. Boasting diverse attractions such as Rishikesh, hill station of Nainital, and the breathtaking landscapes of the Valley of Flowers, Uttarakhand continues to be a favourite among domestic travellers.
The travel relationship between India and Indonesia has also been growing steadily over the years, and both countries have implemented visa policies to facilitate tourism and business travel. Many Indonesians visit India for various reasons including tourism, business, education, and cultural exchange, with Indian cities like New Delhi, Mumbai, Agra, and Jaipur being popular destinations. Bajaj feels that direct flight connections between major cities in both countries further facilitate the travel relationship.
Earning the fourth position in this poll was Kerala, often hailed as “God’s Own Country,” capturing 16.4 per cent of respondents. Hunch says that Kerala remains a top choice for travellers seeking a blend of natural beauty and immersive cultural experiences, while it has been renowned for its tranquil backwaters, lush greenery, and rich cultural heritage. Through this poll, Hunch aims to redefine social interactions by prioritsing curiosity over conformity and fostering genuine connections, while also offering a glimpse into the diverse travel preferences of the Gen Z demographic.
