State declares Rs 5L aid, co to pay families Rs 20L | Nagpur News

NAGPUR: Deputy chief minister Devendra Fadnavis rushed to the spot and also declared a compensation of ₹5 lakh to the next of kin of the victims of the explosion at Solar Industries India Ltd on Sunday. Later, the company too announced a compensation of ₹20 lakh each to the families of the victims.
CM Eknath Shindetoo visited the site after arriving in the city on Sunday night.The CM interacted with the families of the victims. Shinde also took information about the incident from the district administration officials and top police officers who accompanied him to the site.
Fadnavis also said that an inquiry will be initiated into the incident. A note shared by his office says that Fadnavis also called on the relatives and assured that the state government is behind them.
A tweet by Fadnavis says, “The company makes explosives for the armed forced. I am constantly in touch with the superintendent of the police and the district collector. The compensation of Rs5 lakh declared for the victims has been approved by the chief minister Eknath Shinde.”
A note issued by the company said it will be implementing recommendations of the inquiry committee as soon as they are received. “The blast had occurred at building no. HR-CPCH-2 (mixing melting and casting) unit. Solar Industries have always taken care of its employees and fully sympathizes with families of the deceased. We remain committed to providing all the support to the families,” reads a note signed by Ashish Shrivastav, senior general manager, Solar Industries India Limited.
