Sunny Deol started his career with a bang through Rahul Rawail’s Betaab in 1983. Following this, he appeared as the main lead in a number of successful films over the years in the form of Arjun, Ghayal, Tridev, Ghatak, etc. With this, he also became a specialist in the action genre. Sunny’s career received a much-needed push in 2001 through Anil Sharma’s period drama Gadar: Ek Prem Katha, which became a historic blockbuster.
Now, 22 years later, the actor’s career has received another booster through the sequel of the same film titled Gadar 2. Directed by Anil Sharma and also starring Ameesha Patel, Utkarsh Sharma and Manish Wadhwa, the movie has taken the box office by storm by entering he Rs. 200 Crores Club in a mere five days.
With this film, Sunny becomes the oldest main lead hero to enter the Rs. 200 Crores Club at the age of 65. Gadar 2 has so far earned a mammoth Rs. 228.98 crores and it is still going great guns at the box office.
Gadar 2 is the second fastest to reach Rs. 200 crores. It shares this position with KGF: Chapter 2. The first position in the list is acquired by the Shah Rukh Khan starrer Pathaan, which took only 4 days to reach that score when it released earlier this year.
