The recently released Akshay Kumar – Pankaj Tripathy – Yami Gautam starrer OMG 2 has been doing rather well at the box office. with positive reviews and strong audience appreciation the film has seen its collections growth over its first Saturday and Sunday. In fact, OMG 2 managed to rake in Rs. 43.11 cr. over its opening weekend, despite facing immense competition from the other release Gadar 2 and the previous release Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani. However, while the film continues to run in theatres, advance predictions state that the business of OMG 2 is more than likely to see its first Monday collections exceed the collections of its opening day.
As per estimates, OMG 2 which continues to benefit from spillover audience for Gadar 2 could see between Rs. 10.5 cr. to Rs. 11 cr. coming in on its first Monday. Though the film has faced a tough time in mass-dominated sectors, this increase in business is being attributed to the fact that in metros the audience has welcomed the film. If that was not enough, when compared to previous releases of 2023, OMG 2 looks set to emerge as the second film of 2023, after The Kerala Story to score higher collections on its first Monday as compared to its first Friday.
As of now, reports claim that morning and early afternoon shows of OMG 2 have been running consistently seeing a gradual increase in footfalls. In fact, over evening and night shows predictions indicate a sharp increase in collections.
