Two small films which were expected to do hardly any theatrical business are actually keeping theatres busy this weekend, even as one waits for the arrival of SatyaPremKi Katha on Thursday. While new release 1920: Horrors of the Heart is a low budget film, Zara Hatke Zara Bachke is mid-budget, and both are exceeding expectations, though to varying degree.
Let’s talk about 1920: Horrors of the Heart first. After collecting Rs. 2.34 crores on the first day, the pan-India film has now collected Rs. 2.72 crores in Saturday. The horror film was in fact not announced as a pan-India release and hence surprised one and all when it ended up getting almost a crore from the Telugu and Tamil version on Friday. The trend has continued on Saturday as well and as a result the overall collections have out to be healthy again, given the budget at which the film has been made. The film currently stands at Rs. 5.06 crores, which is decent enough considering hardly anyone knew about its arrival.
On the other hand, Zara Hatke Zara Bachke has crossed Rs. 2 crores milestone all over again with collections to the tune of Rs. 2.35 crores. To think of it, the romcom drama is in its fourth week, has seen competition from Hollywood films and then a biggie like Adipurush. Still, audiences are coming finding to embrace the Vicky Kaushal and Sara Ali Khan starrer which has now also achieved the milestone of Rs. 75 crores. Currently standing at Rs. 76.14 crores, the Laxman Utekar directed film is now aiming for a finish at over Rs. 85 crores mark.
Note: All collections as per production and distribution sources
