Nagpur: Murder convict Shamrao Shende, 40, died by suicide inside the painting store room of Nagpur Central Jail on Friday.
Shende used his pyjama string to hang from the window grill.
Shende, booked by Gadchiroli police for killing his wife in 2020, was shifted to Nagpur from Chandrapur after being sentenced to life in prison.
A case of accidental death was registered by Dhantoli police.

Unidentied burglars decamped with valuables worth around ₹2 lakh from the residence of Dr Bharat Adulkar at Telephone Nagar Square in Dighori.
The Adulkars had gone to Vadodara on May 27. After returning on Friday, they found their belongings scattered.
The burglars broke the door and latch of the house before laying their lands on the valuables kept in two admirals. An offence was registered by Hudkeshwar police. tnn
