Mahabali, a revered figure in Hindu mythology, is best known for his virtuous rule and the legend of Vamana, an incarnation of Lord Vishnu. As the benevolent demon king, Mahabali’s unparalleled generosity earned him praise and devotion. However, the gods, fearing his growing power, sought Vishnu’s intervention. Disguised as Vamana, Vishnu approached Mahabali and, in three steps, covered the entire universe. Despite his banishment, Mahabali’s piety and humility won him eternal respect, marking a tale of sacrifice and devotion celebrated during the festival of Onam.
