The railways authorities of Turkiye, China, Australia, Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan recently agreed to create the Eurasian Transport Route International Association with its headquarters in Baku.
The collegial body was necessary to make the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route more attractive and competitive, Azerbaijan Railways CJSC chairman Rovshan Rustamov said.

The collegial body was necessary to make the Middle Corridor, or the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (TITR), more attractive and competitive, Rustamov said.

“In order to achieve the set goals, the Association must carry out structured work, develop a corridor concept, formulate a tariff policy, and also study and implement the possibilities of using digital solutions in the Middle Corridor for faster and safer transport to improve the efficiency of operations,” he was quoted as saying.

The TITR runs through China, Kazakhstan, the Caspian Sea, Azerbaijan, Georgia and on to Turkiye and European countries. The operational Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway is part of the corridor.
