2025 MG Comet prices rise by up to Rs 27,000 with new features

The MG Comet line-up has been updated for 2025 with a few feature upgrades, except for the entry-level Executive variant. Consequently, the prices of the most affordable MG car have increased by up to 27,000 depending on the variant. There are no mechanical changes.

  1. Mid-spec Excite variant costs up to Rs 20,000 more now
  2. Comet Blackstorm Edition’s price is unchanged 

2025 MG Comet new features

4 speakers in top-spec Exclusive variant

Features such as a rear parking camera and electrically folding outside rearview mirrors, previously reserved for the range-topping Exclusive variant, have now been introduced in the mid-spec Comet Excite. As for the Exclusive variant, the fabric seat upholstery and a two-speaker sound system have been replaced by premium leatherette seats and a four-speaker setup.

MG continues to offer other features such as dual 10.25-inch screens comprising a driver’s display and a touchscreen, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay and keyless entry in the Comet.

2025 MG Comet EV specs and range

42hp motor; 230km range

The Comet EV has a rear motor that generates 42hp and 110Nm of peak torque. This motor sources power from a 17.3kWh lithium-ion battery, and the claimed MIDC range is 230km. 

Charging

MG Motor India recently introduced a 7.4kW AC charger with the Comet Exclusive and Excite variants. This unit takes 3.5 hours to charge the battery from 0 to 100 percent, lowering the charging time by half compared to the 3.3kW AC charger for other variants.

Buyers can also opt for MG’s more affordable Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) programme, which is essentially a battery rental scheme. With the Baas scheme, the Comet’s starting price is lower at Rs 5 lakh (see table below), but MG charges Rs 2.5 as battery rent for every kilometre driven.
