NEW DELHI: Delhi Capitals‘ new recruit Sameer Rizvi pulled off a mad show on Saturday, smashing a jaw-dropping 97-ball 201 not out in an Under-23 State A Trophy match.
The UP captain was at his unbelievable best, smoking the Tripura bowlers to all corners of the park.
With the help of 13 fours and 20 sixes, Rizvi lit up the Vadodara stadium as his side piled up a massive 405.
With the sensational effort, Rizvi recorded the fastest double ton in the history of men’s U23 State A Trophy but it won’t qualify as a List A record.

In List A cricket, New Zealand’s Chad Bowes holds the record for fastest double ton which came off 103 balls against Otago during the Ford Trophy.
After Rizvi came in to bat in the 23rd over, he took the Tripura bowlers to the cleaners in a sheer display of power-hitting.
The 21-year-old represented Chennai Super Kings in the 2024 season but managed only 51 runs in 8 outings.
After a flop show last season, he was not picked up by the franchise at the mega auction.
However, Delhi Capitals did get hold of him for Rs 95 lakh — a significant decrease from his previous IPL price tag of Rs 8.4 crore.
The youngster has been in dazzling form recently.
In the last two clashes, Rizvi has scored 153 off 114 balls against Himachal Pradesh and an unbeaten 137 off 69 balls against Pondicherry.
